"This is such a wonderful explanation! I’m embarrassed to say that I have a master’s degree in teaching, and I did not know the difference between phonics and phonological awareness. Thank you!"
- Andrea
"Just what I needed! I’m a reading interventionist at a dual language school, and while I know the importance of phonological awareness to reading success, I was at a loss of how to adapt this to Spanish (since my Masters program was focused on English reading). I appreciate the thoughtful explanations and the resources."

"This is amazing!!! Easy ideas to bring back to the classroom. When a student is struggling with reading it most often comes back to phonemic awareness. Thank you!!!"

Phonological awareness is the foundation of reading success. Research closely links student proficiency in phonological awareness to proficiency in reading and spelling.
And the good news is that phonological awareness practice doesn't have to take up much time!
But that also means that we have to be very intentional about how we spend our limited minutes on phonological awareness.
As part of Learning At The Primary Pond’s 10 year anniversary celebration, I’m hosting this free workshop, where I'll explain which phonological awareness skills you should spend the most time on. I'll also share game and activity ideas - some that you can do with students, and some that students can do on their own as centers!
Come celebrate with me and enjoy this fun workshop!
Can't wait to see you there!
